I went to Brown College and Hennepin Technical College. Long story short I lost my job at UPS in 2005 and tried to use my degree for a job and was under qualified because I didn’t know the software. The Printing industry was still strong. I graduated in 2008 and learned that 6 major printing companies were downsizing or not hiring. I was very upset. I was already trying new things; in 2007 I published my book and was using that as leverage to get a job and networking with other people to get work. It’s always hard as a new author to get things going, but I learned that people especially employers like talking to published author.

I never learned how, what and why to get a job, but just enough to keep coming back to the college to spend money. I never learned about how to start a business and create my own income. I wish I could get my money back from Brown College because I still ain’t working in the field I wanted which was 2-D Animation. Hennepin Tech gave me a $2,000.00 scholarship plus I earned a 1,500 Pell Grant so I feel it was worth it, but I wish I could have done more with the education. I was actually earning money at the college applying for Grants and Scholarships, which was nice.
